The world’s strongest brothers were tricked into booking by primary school children in Easter Ross this week as they were tasked with opening a very special school library.
Tom and Luke Stoltman delighted pupils at Park Primary in Invergordon when they came to do the honors this week.
Pupils have been housed at Invergordon Academy since a fire tore through their building in February 2020.
This was immediately followed by the coronavirus crisis which upended the way schools were able to operate.
So there was a celebratory feeling this week as the pupils of the park found the space to recreate their school library.
At the grand opening, Luke and Tom were greeted by Kindergarten, P1 and P2 students and invited to unveil a plaque and cut ribbon at the entrance to the library.
A few students then took them inside for a tour and showed them their brand new books and electronic scanning system.
Then they came onto the playground where the P3/4 classes demonstrated their current lunchtime activity this week – the Park’s Strongest Pupil competition.
The idea came from Ms Fraser and the Playground Parliament Group, with each class taking part in rounds each day of the week. The brothers had the opportunity to find out where their future competition could come from.
A question-and-answer session with pupils from P5, P6 and P7 allowed them to ask interesting questions about their life as strong men and the type of books they like.
Deputy Headmaster Nikki Campbell said: “Students were delighted to hear that strong men read too and that they used it to help them relax. Students said they found it extremely inspiring and we are glad they are influencing our students in such a positive way.”
Pupils from kindergarten to P4 are accommodated in temporary modular units at Invergordon Academy. P5 to P7 are in a self-contained area of the academy building with their own dedicated stairwell.
The Highland Council is planning a reconstruction on the site of the old school which is still in the early stages of planning.
