The remarkable achievements of the brothers who put their hometown of Easter Ross on the map for thousands of fans around the world are to be celebrated tomorrow.

Tom Stoltman has twice been named the strongest man in the world after globally televised competitions in the United States.

Older brother Luke has been named Scotland’s strongest man several times and in 2021 he won the title of Europe’s strongest man.

The men of Invergordon can also claim to be the strongest brothers in the world, having both competed successfully in a series of major competitions.

A celebratory event has long been planned in their hometown which has already proclaimed their achievements to visitors in welcome signs at entrances to the port community.

The celebration will take place on Saturday, August 27, from noon to 4 p.m.

Luke and Tom have been hailed as “inspiring heroes” by South Lodge Primary School Principal David Hayes-MacLeod, who has hosted their visits to the school on several occasions.

He said: “We want everyone to come out and show these two guys how proud their hometown and their friends are of them.”

Throughout the afternoon there will be a parade down the main street led by a pipe band followed by Luke and Tom to meet the crowd.

A stage where special announcements will be made – including some surprises – is also planned. Music from local singer-songwriter Davy Cowan and Soundblast Disco is scheduled, along with a guest appearance from Invergordon Academy student Rhoehaiise Clark.

There will be charity stalls on the High Street with Herchers Funfair also selling hot food. Gymnastic presentations, circus performers “and much more” are planned.

Local primary school children get involved in an art competition with the works on display at the Invergordon Museum on the day to be judged by Luke and Tom.

Youngsters will even be invited to dress up in their favorite strongman costumes which will also be judged on the day with prizes awarded for both competitions.

Mr Hayes-MacLeod, one of those who helped organize it, said: “It will truly be a special event. Please save this date and show these two amazing souls how proud our little town is of ‘them!”
