A new strength and conditioning suite will open at the Invergordon Leisure Center next week.

The new High Life Highland facility, which includes platforms and supports suitable for athletes and gym-goers, will be open to members for inductions on April 28.

The installation of the new BLK Box equipment will take place from April 23 to 27.

The new equipment includes compact full racks, various weight bars and plates, dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags, TRX bands, plyo boxes as well as a SkiErg and an assault bike.

Catriona Fraser, Invergordon Leisure Center Manager, said: “We look forward to welcoming people to our new strength and conditioning suite which offers our visitors the very latest in equipment.

“It gives us the opportunity to increase our personal training program, organize small group fitness classes and weightlifting classes.”

During the first few weeks, the focus will be on inductions with options for scheduled six-week blocks for introduction to strength training.

In the coming weeks, there will be other scheduled session opportunities, including:

Love to Train – Small group workout that offers clients the opportunity to train in a supportive environment to achieve their personal fitness goals while being coached by qualified instructors

Ladies Who Lift – encouraging greater female participation, this class promotes strength, tone and power.

Teen Gym – encourages teens to participate in weightlifting and learn the importance of good technique, form and control.

Additionally, the suite will be open for general use outside of specific courses.

An orientation will be required before using the new strength and conditioning suite. These can be booked online from Thursday 21 April by visiting https://summer.highland.gov.uk/connect/mrmlogin.aspx

The new addition joins the fitness suite at Invergordon Leisure Center which includes treadmills, varios, rowers and bikes as well as resistance stations.

The facility also includes a pool, gym, and fitness classes including body balance, indoor cycling, body pump, and Zumba.
