CHRISTMAS has come early this week for the strong siblings who have helped put the Easter Ross town of Invergordon on the radar of people around the world.
Luke and Tom Stoltman have enjoyed a meteoric rise in strongman competition, clinching the cream of the crop on the world stage between them.
Now they’ve been honored in their backyard with new signs at the entrances to the Port City proclaiming their accomplishments to all who enter the departure.
Tom, who clinched a World’s Strongest Man title earlier this year, said the pair were “tremendously grateful”.
The sign reads: Welcome to Invergordon, birthplace to the world of the Stoltman Brothers, Europe and the UK’s Strongest Men.
The city already welcomes visitors from around the world aboard mega cruise liners which in normal years bring hundreds of thousands into port before embarking on tours of the Highlands.
But the dynamic duo have become a force to be reckoned with and are now confirmed as two of the area’s biggest tourist attractions.
The signs were the brainchild of the Invergordon Community Council who were keen to honor the brothers. Chair Sally Northern said: “Invergordon Community Council is delighted to have placed three new signs at entrances to the town recognizing the incredible achievements of Luke and Tom Stoltman.
“We’re so proud of the strongest brothers in the world for putting Invergordon right on the map!
“Our thanks also to the Highland Council Roads Department and Ansco Signs Limited, Muir of Ord for their help and advice.”
