A ROSS-SHIRE rugby club has announced the cancellation of weekend matches and training as a mark of respect.

Invergordon-based Ross Sutherland Rugby Club said: “As a mark of respect and to highlight the sad passing of Her Majesty The Queen, all of our matches this weekend have been cancelled, including youth matches and mini workouts.

“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family.”

He added: “We are saddened to learn of the passing of the Queen, an incredible woman who dedicated her life to the service of our country.

“A very sad moment for his family and the country. Our hearts go out in particular to HRH Princess Anne, a great friend to the Scottish rugby community.”
