Easter Ross’ minor injury unit in Invergordon is set to reopen, confirms NHS Highland

The Minor Injury Unit (MIU) at Invergordon Community Hospital will reopen on Tuesday this week.

The MIU, which closed last year due to the current Covid-19 crisis, will be accessible by appointment only.

Appointments will be assigned via NHS 24 by calling 111.

The service will open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday for an initial period of three weeks before returning to a five-day service.

Heather Hynd, NHS Highland’s lead advanced nurse practitioner for East Highland out-of-hours service, said: ‘We are delighted to be able to reopen the MIU at Invergordon Community Hospital, although gradually over the next few weeks.

“The service will operate between 8am and 6pm and appointments can be made by calling NHS 24 on 111. We urge members of the public not to visit the MIU without an appointment, although exceptions will be made in case of ’emergency. Patients with symptoms of Covid-19 should not come to the MIU.

Please call NHS 24 on 111 to arrange an appointment. Calls will be triaged and an appointment will be provided if necessary. Consultations via NHS Near Me can also be arranged if needed.
