Invergordon Bowling Club’s outdoor grass season officially kicked off this summer.
Invergordon distillery manager Shane Healy was invited to throw the first bowl of the season as they sponsored the first day of action at the club.
The distillery will sponsor competitions at the club throughout the season.
Club chairman Charlie Gallacher welcomed returning club members as well as guests from St Duthus Bowling Club in Tain and a number of new faces to the club.
Members and guests celebrated the occasion with a group photo to record the start of the 2022 season.
The members then took part in a regular tradition at the club with a spider competition.
The bowlers stood around the perimeter of the green with the jack placed in the center of the green.
At the countdown and the whistle, everyone threw a single ball, all at the same time, trying to get closest to the jack. The winner of the contest is Moira MacLeod.
The club is open most afternoons at 2 p.m. and welcomes anyone interested in the sport.
The club is also open on Tuesday evenings at 6:45 p.m.
Sessions at Invergordon Bowling Club are free for anyone who wants to try the first month.
