Invergordon is a closely settled rural area of predominately dairy farms, orchards, lifestyle and hobby farms,
located approximately 30kms North East of Shepparton, 15kms South East of Numurkah and 30kms South West
of Cobram. It is situated in the Moira Shire.

There is a small township, Primary school, church, sports ground including tennis courts, Community Rooms Complex and Pony Club reserve.

In 1958, the Rural Finance Commission acquired large areas of farming land at Invergordon and subdivided and developed that land into small, closely settled orchards and dairy farms. From 1961 it began allocating orchard and dairy blocks to farmer applicants, until in 1966, the last of 81 orchards and 89 dairy farms had been allocated.

Over subsequent years, the new settlers and their families worked tirelessly to create a vibrant community, with many clubs and organizations formed to enhance the sporting and social life of that community.
